Big Charity Island is located approximately ten miles offshore in the middle of Saginaw Bay between the port city of Caseville to the East, and AuGres to the west. The Island consists of almost three hundred acres of forest and three miles of shoreline on Lake Huron, and is home to a multitude of wildlife species including neo-tropical songbirds, bald eagles, raccoons, foxes, minks, and more. It is included in the "Michigan Islands National Wildlife Refuge" system.

Arenac County Historical Society Museum has artifacts dating back
to the 1800's, a home setting, with a parlor and children's rooms, items pertaining to indians, and lumbering in Arenac county, farming, and
schools. Hours are Memorial Day - Labor Day: Saturday & Sunday, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
